As summer nears and we begin to spend more time in the sun, it is vital for us to start caring for our skin now to keep it protected, renewed, and rejuvenated. For skincare advice, we’ve turned to new Vol. 8 member Virginia Regenerative Medicine & Spa for their expert recommendations.

The idea of Virginia Regenerative was first conceived after co-owners Dr. Michael and Jeanne Poss started using regenerative medicine practices on their own family members. Seeing remarkable results, the duo was determined to share their practices with the greater community and opened their business in historic downtown Marshall just two short years ago. After purchasing a historic residence on Main Street, the team remodeled the space themselves and transformed it into a tranquil getaway for their clients.

Dr. Poss, a graduate of Wake Forest University, is board certified in anesthesiology and interventional pain management, having served as the past president of the Virginia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is also listed as one of the “150 Pain Management Physicians to Know” by Becker’s ASC Review, among many other notable accomplishments. Jeanne is a certified SkinPen specialist and trainer, Ultherapist, yoga and meditation teacher who completed her training in yoga and meditation at Duke Integrative Medicine and The Ananda School of Meditation and Yoga. Her mission has always been to share her knowledge and help her clients feel as healthy and beautiful on the outside as they do on the inside.

Jeanne is very proud of her transformation, shown here prior to and after using her own treatments.

Virginia Regenerative specializes in a range of services, from aesthetics to orthopedics, as well as spa services, including Swedish and deep tissue massages and infrared sauna treatments. Now that they have reopened to limited hours and are accepting patient visits, we can’t wait to schedule our own long-overdue appointment. Most recently, the spa has expanded their regenerative technology into their aesthetic practices.

“WE BELIEVE IN HELPING PEOPLE LIVE THEIR BEST LIFE, FEELING GOOD FROM THE INSIDE OUT.” -JEANNE POSS, CO-FOUNDER

A deep tissue massage is definitely in order this spring.

Intrigued by this expansion of regenerative technology, we asked Jeanne to tell us more about this practice in their aesthetic services. “Utilizing exosomes, the very same tiny messenger vesicles that aid in the repair of injuries, we applied them to our microneedling procedure coupled with other anti-aging procedures, with incredible results,” she explains.

Jeanne also shared some helpful advice for future and regular clients. It seems that like any other daily self-care practice, it is important to check in with your skin and problem areas as frequently as possible. “When it comes to the aesthetic side of our practice, we’ve found that custom designing your care plan is essential to meeting your goals. Layering different services is the secret to natural and lasting results,” Jeanne shares.

Virginia Regenerative’s infrared Sunlighten sauna might be one of our favorite treatments.

The spa’s team loves supporting their fellow local Marshall businesses. You can catch them grabbing lunch or dinner at one of their many favorite spots, including Johnny Monarch’s, Red Truck Bakery, Field & Main, or The Whole Ox. They also frequent Dan Moore’s The Drawing Room at 8393 and some of Hunt Country’s favorite vineyards. Call their office to schedule your appointment!
