Michael J. Poss,

Founder & Medical Director
Dr. Michael Poss is a double board-certified physician in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management with more than 25 years of experience treating complex orthopedic and pain conditions. A graduate of Wake Forest University and former U.S. Naval Medical Officer, Dr. Poss is known for combining clinical precision with an exceptionally compassionate approach to care.
Patients consistently describe Dr. Poss as one of the kindest and most attentive physicians they have ever encountered. He is recognized for his gentle technique, unhurried appointments, and commitment to thoroughly explaining each step of the treatment process so patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their care.
Dr. Poss has served as President of the Virginia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and was named among Becker’s ASC Review’s 150 Pain Management Physicians to Know. He was also recognized as a Top 10 Regenerative Medicine Provider by Life Sciences Review and helped lead Virginia Regenerative Medicine & Spa to be named a Top Regenerative Medicine Center in Virginia (2025).
In addition to his work in regenerative medicine, Dr. Poss continues to treat patients at Blue Ridge Orthopaedic & Spine Center. He remains deeply committed to using advanced regenerative therapies to restore function, reduce pain, and improve overall quality of life.
Jeanne Poss, RN
Founder & Aesthetic Nurse
Jeanne Poss is a Registered Nurse and Founder of Virginia Regenerative Medicine & Spa, known for blending advanced clinical expertise with an exceptionally warm, patient-centered approach. With advanced certifications in SkinPen® microneedling, Ultherapy, and laser technologies, she is also a certified trainer and educator who has guided both patients and professionals in evidence-based aesthetic care.
Patients are naturally drawn to Jeanne’s calming presence, approachable personality, and genuine ability to make each person feel seen, heard, and cared for. Her sessions are often described as both results-driven and deeply personal - a rare combination that has earned her a loyal following.
With additional training in yoga and meditation through Duke Integrative Medicine and The Shambhava School, Jeanne brings a thoughtful, whole-person perspective to aesthetic care, connecting inner balance with outer confidence. A graduate with honors from Laurel Ridge, where she served as Nursing Student President, Jeanne continues to lead with both clinical excellence and heartfelt compassion.
Emily Ugarte, L.M.E.
Director of Operations & Licensed Master Esthetician
Emily Ugarte is a Licensed Master Esthetician and Director of Operations at Virginia Regenerative Medicine & Spa, bringing nearly 15 years of experience in healthcare and aesthetics. Known for her results-driven, corrective approach, Emily specializes in treating complex skin conditions including acne, melasma, and rosacea.
She holds advanced certifications in laser technologies, DMK Skin Revision, SkinPen® microneedling, and HydraFacial. Emily has completed thousands of hours of continuing education and advanced hands-on training, with extensive study in skin physiology, treatment safety, and ingredient science.
She is especially recognized for her methodical, root-cause approach to chronic and treatment-resistant skin conditions. By looking beyond surface symptoms, Emily develops highly personalized treatment strategies that support true skin health and long-term transformation. Her clinical expertise, combined with an intuitive and educational approach, has helped countless patients achieve clearer, stronger, more confident skin.
